Following Nitro's season-ending 28-6 loss to Herbert Hoover,
Greg Cyrus said this may have been his last season as coach of the
Wildcats.
"It's very discouraging when you think you're going to have a
good season and you don't,' Cyrus said. "We had a good start, but
it seemed like we quit halfway through.'
Cyrus said he was optimistic entering this season after a 5-5
campaign in 1991. However, he said a lack of intensity led to a 2-8
record this season and a major step backward for the Wildcat program
"This year we fell back a long way,' Cyrus said. He added
this season is even more disappointing since it marked the fifth year
in a five-year plan that he had laid out to bring the Wildcats to
prominence.
Cyrus said he will make a final decision in December after
meeting with returning players.
"It's discouraging when you don't play hard. If they don't
want to do it |Fplay hard|G, they can do it without me. Unless the
kids want to come out and play, I won't be back.'
